Silk | Care Advice

Clean & Maintain

-Silk is best washed by hand with a mild detergent and lukewarm water. Look for delicates or silk-washing liquids.
-Rinse well, squeeze out very gently any surplus moisture by rolling in a towel, and hang to dry.
-To treat a stain, gently press(do not rub) with a paper towel or clean cotton wool to draw out as much of the stain as possible. Use silk delicate liquid to clean the area. Be mindful to clean your piece gently and outwards to avoid spreading the stain and avoid fraying the lace.

Handle & Store

-You may wish to iron your silk ribbons now and then to keep their crisp glossy look.Use only silk/delicate settings or the lowest setting. We recommend using a press cloth to cover the area as you are ironing to prevent potential damage.
-Silk is best ironed when damp to minimise the effects of the iron's heat.

What to Avoid

-Using your iron if your iron is dirty, has rust/metal stains or burns as it will permanently ruin the silk.
-Using ironing starch as it will stain the silk.
-Soak, boil, bleach, or wring the silk, or leave it crumpled in a towel.
