Organic Gemstones | Care Advice
Clean & Maintain
-Gently wipe the pearls: Carefully wipe each pearl to remove dirt and oils with damp soft, clean cloth (like microfibre or cotton) with lukewarm water. Use gentle circular motions and avoid rubbing too hard, which can damage the surface.
-For a deeper clean, add a few drops of mild, gentle soap to the cloth instead of mixing it in water, and wipe the cloth to create minimal lather.
-If you use soap, wipe the pearls again with a separate cloth that is just damp with clean water to rinse off any residue.
-Lay the pearls flat on a clean, dry towel to air-dry.
Handle & Storage
-Keep them hydrated: Pearls need some moisture in the air. Wear them often, as the body's natural oils can help keep them hydrated.
-Once dry, store pearls separately from other jewellery to prevent abrasion. Use a soft pouch, such as one made of satin or silk, to protect them.
-Lay your necklaces flat to prevent the string from stretching from the weight.
What to Avoid
-Airtight containers: Don't store pearls in sealed plastic bags or airtight containers, as this can cause them to dry out and crack.
-Hanging them, as this can cause the wet string to stretch.
